As we all know it, a healthy lifestyle is the combination of eating well and exercising regularly. If i am to “cross my heart” and tell the truth, I can’t remember the last time I exercised. Unless you want to count walking up and down the stairs a couple of times a day as working out, the last time I remember doing a proper workout was two and a half months ago😩. Finding the time to exercise is such a luxury that I now rely on healthy meals to stay in shape these days.
I tend to eat a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables at home thanks to the veggiebox I receive weekly from Freshdaily. Even with that, I felt the need to try out food businesses that cater for healthy/ clean eaters in the city and NutrihitCafe happens to be one of the few I have come across so far.
Located on Ayade garden, Opposite city park. Ahmadou bello way, wuse Abuja. NutrihitCafe serves salads, healthy meals, fruit platter, Greek yoghurt, healthy snacks and loaves, parfait, healthy sweeteners, cold pressed juices, smoothies, wraps and many more. They offer weigh loss plans following dietrician’s instructions too.
During my visit, I noticed the cafe was empty and I was curious as to why it was that way. NutrihitCafe hasn’t been around that long ( 10 months only ) and a lot of their customers would either order from home, office or pop into the cafe to order take outs. Because of that they can deliver in most parts of the city and delivery charges apply to everyone except to those within the city center areas.
We ordered some herbal tea and a plate of avocado and chicken salad. We got a complimentary amuse bouche of garden eggs and roasted peanut. I wasn’t too keen on that particular combination ( maybe I am not familiar with the concept) and I personally do not like eating garden eggs. The peanut, however, was crunchy, lightly salted and delicious.
The lovely lady who attended to us was welcoming and very helpful. The cafe is descent, tidy but too quiet for my liking.
I got served a good portion of salad with lots of greens and protein varities. There were red kidbey beans, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, avocado, chicken, boiled egg and some other ingredients. I enjoyed the salad dressing. Once mixed together , the taste was better than I ‘d expected. Especially as it is meant to be diet food.
Their prices are fairly reasonable, but some of the food on the menu could be cheaper. we got extra hot water to top up the tea bags, ( would that justify the price of one tea bag ?😓), and the meal was enjoyable for someone like myself, who was just after a healthy meal.
I would say try NutrihitCafe out if you want to experience a variety of healthy food. If you are on a diet why not also pay them a visit and let me know your thoughts after?
