Uncle D’s Abuja

Hey foodilics,

I come to you today with @uncledsabuja (on instagram). If you don’t know about this eatery yet then you have been missing out of gourmet food big time.
I discovered the place just about a year ago and have been back countless times ever since. I have also witnessed a lot of improvement there since last year including their menu that has grown with much more delicious varieties. This is a sign that the staff at Uncle D’s do listen to their customers. You can find the review i did when i first discovered the restaurant last year on my Instagram @wheretoeatabuja.

Uncle D’s is a stylish restaurant with open kitchen located in wuse 2, Ironsi Street, opposite the yoruba mosque. Their specialities are gourmet fast food such as burgers, pizzas, buritos, tacos but they also do continental and local dishes with starters and desserts you can eat in or take away.
The atmosphere at Uncle D’s is so relaxed and welcoming with constant air-conditioning and free wifi to browse. It’s the perfect place to hold a brunch meeting, take a lunck break or chill with friends. The environment is so vibrant and also family friendly. Top marks to them for finally getting comfortable high chairs for younger children. Someone like me with a busy todd wanting to climb and touch everything, the high means I can now indulge myself without worries that my son will go and pick another customer’s meat from their plate ( *sigh😔 😁).
The staff are ever so friendly and helpful. The open plan kitchen allows you to also interact with the chefs while the food is made in front of you.
I ordered waffle with caramel ice-cream and that has to be the best waffle i have had in abuja so far.
I didn’t plan to blog my visit there at first but the dessert came so well presented that i couldn’t help myself but to take a few snapshots. The combination of moist and lightly caramelised warm waffle with some creamy dairy icecream and a sprinkle of chocolate sauce was everything i was craving for and the portion was also improved.

I feel like my present experience compared to the first time i was there has gotten better and better. I can’t fault anything about it. Overall a 9,5/10 just because I need to save the half mark for the next game Uncle D’s will bring to the table 😄

I highly recommend the place because it really is that great. Also let me know of your experience there either if you have been there before or after you’ve been.

Also feel free to subscribe and share this post on your social media.

Take care now,

R.
